Devotion for Monday, April 20

DAILY DEVOTION #1

We begin a new sermon series on STEWARDSHIP.  This Sunday our topic is SERVICE.  We are called to serve within the church and beyond the church by sharing our gifts and talents.

 SCRIPTURE:  James 1:17

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

 SCRIPTURE:  I Corinthians 12

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

 NOTE;

God has given each person a gift, a gift to be shared with others.  Each of us has a purpose to share that gift with others.

 POINT:

A.    The purpose of life is relationship

B.    The essence of life is giving.

 QUESTION:

How can you make a difference by sharing your gift/talent in service to others?

 NOTE:

Not every generation has an opportunity to build

 THOUGHT TO PONDER

Giving is not a debt I owe,

It’s a seed I sow.

PLEASE PRAY FOR:

1.     Family of PHIL CLARK.  This Friday is the memorial service @ 1p.m.  Pray that we can be the church to support the family of Phil Clark.

  1. Folks who are unemployed.  There is a particular person in our congregation who is young and has administrative and computer skills searching for a job.  Pray that a door will open up for her.
Cinco de Mayo is May 3rd, need folks to help cook.
