Fall Boutique
Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Fellowship Hall 9am to 2 pm

The United Methodist Women are an integral part of the Methodist Church by there prayers, service, gifts and there support of missions, home and abroad. The purpose of the United Methodist Women is to know God and to experience freedom as whole person through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of missions through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The women of the Northridge United Methodist Church organized the Ladies Aid Society (LAS) in 1927. This society remained in service until 1940 when this group became the Women Society of Christian Service (WSCS). The Women Society of Christian Service continued there work and support until the year 1973 when the women reorganized again and now became the United Methodist Women. This chapter of the women service has been in existence for the last thirty five (35) years.

The women have active programs which you are invited to join.

If you like to play Bridge you can join the Magpies or the Blue Jays. These groups meet at various places on Tuesday. One group meets the first Tuesday the other group meets on the fourth Tuesday.

Bowling your sport? The bowling group meets weekly on Wednesday at 9:15 am at Matador Bowl. This group is combined with another church.

Lunch anyone? On the third Tuesday the ladies have a luncheon with a program with speakers or other Christian organizations.

The Lunch Bunch is a group of lady friends who get together for lunch and meet at different restaurants on the fourth Friday.

The New You meets the first Monday in the evening at various places. They have various programs with speakers, information on various missions and even have some fun nights.

Can you paint, knit, sew of glue? The Arts and Crafts meet every Monday at 9:00 am. They make items for their boutique sale. The boutique is held every year and they have a luncheon and bake sale table. The proceeds from the boutique sale are donated to various missions, You can find some very nice hand made gifts that you are likely to find anywhere else.

The Hearts and Hands ladies visit our home bound and sometimes take little gifts or brownies. The home bound really look forward to these visits.

The prayer chain is very active. There are many requests for prayers for those in need as the need arises.

These are some of the women’s activities. The ladies also step in to help when they are needed.

If you see anything that interests you and would like to attend, please call the church office to get more information and a contact person to call. Some of the above programs are quiet during the summer months.
