UPCOMING UMYF ACTIVITIES

Beginning with the New Year, the MYF will take on a new schedule. Regular MYF meetings will begin after the second worship service.
We will start with Lunch in the Youth Activ-ity Center, and then have some fun and some program and Bible Study. We will be over between 1:30 and 1:45 PM — usually.
Sometimes meetings will be planned that are a bit longer, but we will notify everyone when that happens. (For example, see January 22.)
Thus our January 2012 MYF Schedule is as follows:

February 5 — Souper Bowl Sunday
We will collect the canned goods offerings and, after dividing the pile, we will deliver half to the Reseda UMC Food Pantry. Then we will grab a fast food lunch and be back at church by 2 PM.

The Souper Bowl of Caring is a national movement of youth to fight hunger and poverty in their own communities at the time of the Super Bowl football game.
Last year NUMC Youth — with the help and generosity of our congregation — collected $579 and canned goods for North Valley Caring Services and Reseda UMC's Food Pantry.

February 12 — My Song, My Music
Bring two of your favorite songs to share with the group. Either burn a CD or bring them on a USB drive. Be prepared to share why they work for you. And what they mean to you.

PARENT NOTE:
In the next few weeks we will be scheduling an-other Parent / Youth Meeting to establish some pri-orities for meeting times as the current schedule is not working for most of our youth. Watch for the announcement, and plan to make it a priority to be there.

SUMMER CAMP:
Santa Barbara District Jr.-Sr. High Camp will be at Arroyo Grande Camp this summer from July 22 to July 28. Cost is $350 / student for the week. The church has financial "Camperships" available on request. Save the dates! Fliers will be in the church office soon.

Please plan to attend, bring a friend, make it a priority!
Only if you commit to making it great, can it BE great.
